Design
I set the worldview of the game as a fictitious world, by the alien civilization "The Guardians" from thousands of years ago to foster the human religious regime was also developed in the Earth thousands of years, by The Guardians called "Devils " of the civilization and its followers, human beings in the two alien civilizations manipulated to kill each other.
The player's identity is a former GIPD (The Guardians Police Department) police officer who encountered this war on his first day of retirement. He has no choice but to kill a bloody way. On the way to fight, he will obtain the war civilizations on both sides of the scattered, as well as the strange energy fragments generated from the human race itself, so as to strengthen their own abilities, and choose their own beliefs path.
Art
This is a world where magic, religion and science fiction coexist, and the elements in it will inevitably be very different, and in order to realize this world, I used Aseprite to create a large number of scenes and character materials that fit the worldview and create the corresponding animations.
The other two art students in the group created a devil wizard + boss and most of his animations, as well as the in-game icons. And in these jobs, I also helped the first student to make four kinds of animations for the boss.
Unfortunately, many of the animations and materials did not end up in the actual game, which was caused by time and technical reasons.
Gameplay
In the actual game, in addition to acquiring different weapons in the scenario and fighting in very different styles, players will also receive different fragments belonging to three races(Guardian, Demon, and Human). Like the races they represent, the Guardian fragments emphasize defense and suppression, while the Demon fragments significantly enhance offensive capabilities, and the Human fragments provide additional abilities such as two-step jumps, allowing players to reach places they would not normally go. By equipping four of these fragments and performing certain specific combinations, players can improve their attributes and get special skills to help them pass levels quickly.
In addition, the player will also trigger three different endings because of their different types of equipment pieces, but also because of the short development time, the difference between the three endings is limited to the ending lines.
